An unguarded railway crossing. A rare sight these days, as almost all crossings in the Netherlands are protected by automatic gates. Calls are being made to either change or close all unguarded crossings as they’re deemed unsafe. Personally I like them. They make for lovely photos and you actually have to think and use our own peepers for once. A nice change of pace in a country where almost any conceivable danger is covered in bubble wrap.
This is just a small forest road, mostly used by bikes and hikers, which is probably why it’s escaped safety attention so far. Nonetheless accidents do happen here.
